Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) is produced from a natural occuring polymer, cellulose and is utilized in many industrial processes in both purified and technical form.

The CMC industrial applications are several:

  • thickener
  • binder
  • rheology modifier
  •  water retention agent
  • film forming
  • adhesive

CMCs are important components of ceramic glazing process, as their temporary consolidation effect, before firing, helps production stability, allows a regular absorption preventing from several  defects as dimples, cracks, pin holes, orange peel etc.
